Information for tour operators

For all tourists and visitors to Bergen, Fløibanen is a must. Fløibanen is one of Norway’s most popular attractions and the only one of its kind in all of Scandinavia.

We are open daily all year round from early morning to midnight (23.00 from September to April).

There are a number of reasons for including Fløibanen and Fløyen on a tour:

The actual ride on the funicular is an exciting adventure in itself. The ride takes 5-6 minutes and carries guests to the top of Fløyen at 320 metres above sea level and to breathtaking views of Bergen. View our webcam.
At the top of Fløyen, there is beautiful countryside with a wide choice of short and long walks. The paths are waymarked and a hiking map is available.
Fløibanen's lower station is only 150 m from the fish market and Bryggen wharf. There is plenty of space for buses to drop off and pick up passengers at the lower station. Advance bookings are not required. Fløibanen can carry 80 passengers in each carriage.
Two carriages, each with a capacity of 80 passengers, run continuously - providing minimum waiting time even with high passenger numbers.
Fløien Folkerestaurant at the top is an ideal alternative for lunch or an evening meal, both for groups and individual passengers.

Vouchers (requisitions)

Tour operators who use vouchers for groups receive a discount. The ticket and access system at Fløibanen requires all passengers to have their own ticket to pass the gates in the departure hall. Travel guides arriving at Fløibanen must approach the ticket office to exchange their voucher for return tickets to be handed out to all members of the group. This has to take place within the opening hours for the ticket office.

The travel guide can exchange the voucher for tickets during ticket office opening hours, even if the group intends to take Fløibanen the following day.

If the group plans to arrive outside of ticket office opening hours, Fløibanen must be notified in advance. The travel guide must contact the driver in the departure hall to exchange the voucher for tickets. Discounts are available when using vouchers. The tour operator will be invoiced for the tickets.

Group discount

For groups of over 10 persons paying cash at the ticket office, we offer a group discount of 20%. Travel guides and other guides travel for free. The ticket office also accepts Norwegian bank cards, VISA, Eurocard, Maestro and Mastercard.
