Booking spaces on Fløibanen
It is not necessary to make advance bookings for Fløibanen as we have continuous departures when there are high numbers of passengers. However, we kindly request school classes and large groups to provide advance notice of their arrival time by ringing + 47 55 33 68 10. It is possible to agree upon a time when your tickets can be picked up at the ticket office.
Ticket machines
There are ticket machines at all the Fløibanen stations, including the lower station and up on Fløyen, where passengers can purchase tickets. The ticket machines are based on cash payment with coins (1, 5, 10 and 20 kroner coins) or notes (50, 100 or 200 kroner). The ticket machines are based on self service and have a smaller selection of ticket types than that available at the ticket office. Passengers can purchase single and return tickets for the intermediate stations at the ticket machines. Tickets for children and adults must be purchased separately when using the ticket machines.
Accessibility - wheelchairs and prams
All stations on Fløibanen have electronic ticket readers and gates/glass doors which open once the tickets have been read and accepted. There is also a separate gate at all stations designed for wheelchairs and prams. Adults travelling with children under the age of 4 who do not have their own ticket must make sure that the child passes through the gate directly in front of them. The doors remain closed until the carriage has arrived at the station.
There is a lift at the upper and lower stations for wheelchair users and prams to ease access.
